Did you know that AI-generated or assisted content is subject to specific rules and guidelines on the platform?
AI-Generated content is defined as text, images, or translations created by an AI-based tool. If you used an AI-based tool to create the actual content (whether text, images, or translations), it is considered "AI-generated" even if you applied substantial edits afterwards.
AI-Assisted content is if you created the content yourself, and used AI-based tools to edit, refine, error-check, or otherwise improve that content (whether text or images) then it is considered "AI-assisted" and not "AI-generated." It is not necessary to inform us of the use of such tools or process.
It is essential to understand the difference between AI-generated and AI-assisted content. If you used an AI-based tool to create the actual content (whether text, images, or translations), then it is considered "AI-generated," even if you applied substantial edits afterward.
On the other hand, if you created the content yourself and used AI-based tools to edit, refine, error-check or otherwise improve that content (whether text or images), then it is considered "AI-assisted."
It's important to note that all AI-generated and/or assisted content must adhere to Amazon's intellectual property rights policies. You are responsible for verifying that your book description, keywords, and other metadata comply with these policies

While I don't use KDP specifically, this right here is a big reason why I don't use AI in my work at all. There are a lot of sites that don't allow it, and many that do have all these guidelines that you have to adhere to. I also feel strongly that AI generated content has serious ethical issues that would keep me from using it, but even if that wasn't the case, I don't want to feel limited in where I can post my work, so leaving AI out of it actually gives me more freedom.
This is good to know. Another reason why I'm going to do all my own illustrations for my children's books from scratch. It's a lot of work, but I think it'll be better if I do. It'll add to the authenticity also.
