The Dangerous Narrative of NPC's: A Psy-Op to Dehumanize Others
This article explores the emerging trend of labeling people as "non playing characters" and how it could be used to dehumanize individuals, perpetuate stereotypes, and ultimately divide us.
As a linguist and hypnotist, I’m noticing a narrative that is spreading about the idea of "NPCs" or "non playing characters". Could this be a PSYOP (psychological operation) pushed by people who's agenda is to try to keep people disconnected? A way to dehumanize others in this world where we are growing more and more connected in understanding our shared humanity.
In recent years, the term "NPC" or "non-playing character" has been spreading across online forums and social media platforms. It refers to individuals who are perceived as lacking in independent thought or agency, like characters in a video game that simply follow predetermined scripts.
At first glance, this may seem like harmless internet slang. But upon closer examination, it becomes clear that this narrative is not only dangerous but also potentially part of a larger psy-op aimed at dehumanizing others.
Those pushing the NPC narrative suggest that some people lack true consciousness and free will. By labeling them as NPCs, they strip away their humanity and reduce them to mere automatons. This creates an us-vs-them mentality where those who believe themselves to be fully conscious view others as inferior or even subhuman.
This type of thinking can have serious consequences for how we treat one another in our increasingly connected world. If we start seeing certain groups of people as less than human, we're more likely to justify mistreating them or denying them basic rights and freedoms.
The idea of NPCs reinforces existing power dynamics by suggesting that some individuals are inherently superior while others are destined for subservience. This plays into the hands of those who seek to maintain oppressive structures within society.
As linguists and hypnotists know all too well, language shapes our perception of reality. When we label someone an NPC instead of recognizing their full humanity, we contribute to a culture where dehumanization is normalized, and ultimately paves the way for violence against those deemed unworthy.
It's time for us to reject this dangerous narrative and recognize each other as complex beings with unique experiences and perspectives. Only then can we truly work towards creating a more just and equitable world for all.
